Watch Obol's song Machine

WATCH MACHINE >

I've wanted to do a dance re-mix of Revoluçión almost as long as the song has existed. A pastiche of melody parts lifted from Devin Townsend, Queensryche, and other favorite influences, the Revoluçión Reprise has gradually evolved into a song of its own.

Stats:
Song name: Machine (formerly Revoluçión Reprise)
Written by: Barry Craig, 2013
Performances on this recording: Barry, Jeremy and Joey
Last updated: Added Jeremy's drums and additional tweaks, September 2014. Conceived and recorded, March 2013.

Lyrics:
Poison in my head! Feed this thing for me. Set the mood in red. Free. These boundries in your head... they're meaningless to me. The darkness in your hand is key. Those days of running on empty. Whore and Madonna pet for free. Maybe you waste your time on me. Best of the things I've heard and seen. I can see! I can see! I've got your pic on my phone. It's just like yesterday. Just slap the goddess around her soft and perfect face. If there's a black hole, we've got to find a way. Cos when we're all alone, it's like the end of days. Just a minute now, you're gonna tear it all down! Just take a second to look at what you have found. And when we're all gone, we'll disappear to play. I'm bound to you. Oh why do you waste your time on me? Best of the things I've heard and seen. I can see! I can see! Poison in your head! Feels the same to me. Set the mood in red. Free. These boundries in your head... are meaningless to me. The darkness in your hand is key.

Insights and Interpretations:
From Barry, 2013: The new lyrics carry on the Revoluçión story, showing the character's indignance toward boundaries and other "invisible and meaningless" restrictions that other people face, while other lyrics reveal a lost love that adds to the ache in the protagonist's heart.
